OoOOOoOoOoooo who lives in a pineapple under the sea?!?!? Can’t look at a pineapple without thinking of my childhood and Spongebob. The other day when I was making my Lemon Pepper Chicken Kabobs , I couldn’t help but doctor up the pineapple. I was originally going to serve the chicken over a bed of rice and pineapples but decided kabobs were the final display of the day. That being said, I made brown sugar pineapple to go along with our homemade stir fry as the brown sugar, butter, and drizzle of honey made the pineapple taste like a sweet soy sauce. Brown Sugar Pineapple is my new favorite stir fry ingredient!
Pineapple sautéed in butter, brown sugar, and a drizzle of honey
- 4 Slices of Fresh Pineapple remove core
- 1.5-2 Tbsp Butter for sautéing
- 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- Drizzle of honey
Melt the butter on a skillet over medium heat.
Add the pineapple to the skillet (you may have to do 2 at a time depending on the size of your skillet).
Cook for 5 minutes/until golden brown and then flip.
Sprinkle with brown sugar and a drizzle of honey while cooking and remove once golden brown on both sides.
You can serve this over chicken or cut it up and add it to a homemade stir fry!
