CorePower Yoga Training Day Seven

Day seven of CorePower Yoga Teacher Training has come so fast and I’m becoming more and more in love with the practice and training! As i’ve mentioned in previous posts, we are required to take 60 classes within a year of training. I have about 20 classes left to take, and I’ve been paying more attention to teacher’s breath to movement cues throughout classes. I’m not too tired, but I noticed my muscles are much more sore and heavy than they typically feel.

Day seven was another posture clinic (my favorite). We learned the postures in the Balancing and Triangle series and taught one another the flow afterwards. It’s important to break down each posture to truly understand the common misalignments and modifications. We learned to discuss the benefits of each posture during the second side (if you do the post on each side). Since we set students up by cueing alignments on the first side, we are able to spend more time discussing the benefits on the opposite side.

The Balancing series has A LOT going on. There’s a lot of transitions and disengaged/reengaged breath. There are also several poses in a row that begin on an exhale, so we have to focus on the breath cues. When my OMie and I were practicing we kept getting confused on the breaths and mid pose transitions. Once we really thought about it it made a bunch more sense.

Despite meeting three times a week for a total of 9 hours, I actually feel pretty good and not as overwhelmed as I imagined I would feel. Preparing for training prior to training started was beneficial and I highly recommend preparing yourself if you decide to join TT!
