You had me at oats. Peanut butter cup oats that is! My boyfriend came up with the name for the recipe after he tasted a giant spoonful of the new creation!
Since oatmeal is healthy, I figured it was ok to toss some chocolate morsels on top with a little chocolate drizzle as well. Everything in moderate portions is ok, right?! You can easily omit the chocolate in the oats, but if you really want to impress your breakfast guests, don’t skip that step!

Stovetop oatmeal with vanilla, honey, banana, cinnamon, dark chocolate, and organic peanut butter.
- 1 1/4 cup water or less*
- 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats organic
- 1/4 cup Crunchy Peanut Butter organic (Trader Joe's)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Dash Cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp Honey
- 1 small-medium Banana ripe
- Handful Dark Chocolate Morsels optional
-
Boil the water on the stovetop and add the oats.
-
Stir for a few minutes until the oats begin to absorb the water and thicken.
-
Add in the vanilla, honey, and cinnamon.
-
Once the oats begin to thicken a bit more, add in the peanut butter and stir.
-
Remove from stovetop and pour into a bowl.
-
Add the chocolate morsels (optional), bananas, and any other ingredients you may like!
*You can add a cup at first if you'd like. I prefer adding 1 1/4 cup to make my oats less dry, especially if you're adding extra ingredients that may dry out your oats.
Let me know what you think! Don’t forget, it’s ok to eat dessert for breakfast sometimes!
