West Palm Beach, FL – Places to Visit

Currently dreaming of sitting on a sandy beach listening to the sound of waves crashing. Who’s with me!? I’ve traveled to WPB almost every year since I was a young girl. Sometimes flying into Ft. Lauderdale via Southwest will save you a little money (use my code if you’re looking to opening a Southwest Credit Card account – worth it for all the points).

West Palm Beach feels like home to me. I’m familiar with the routes and surrounding towns. There’s so much to do! The beach, shopping, eating, or exploring are just a few things one can do while visiting west Palm.

The Breakers

When I was little, my entire family (including all us children) rolled up to the Breakers in our mini van. The valet took the car keys and there were bags of Doritos and Gatorade bottles falling out of the car as we got out. We looked like hillbillies but this story always makes for a good laugh.

The Breakers is a must! You can valet your car for free if you spend $35 inside at the bar or elsewhere. This area is scenic and beautiful, not to mention it’s surrounded by a beautiful golf course as well. The cool thing about the bar inside is that the bar is one long fish tank! Go ahead and find Nemo! This place makes you feel like a million dollars even if haven’t got a penny to your name. I suggest dressing nice -not fancy or anything but classy. Maybe leave the Doritos and Gatorade behind…

City Place

West Palm Beach

City place is adorable! Picture a two story outdoor mall with plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops. Every now and then they have live bands on a little stage in front of the fountain. There are plenty of food options if you’re looking for a mix! City Place is also located near the water so you can park your car and head out for a walk along the beach.

West Palm Beach – Beach

I love visiting this beach as the sun is about to set. This beach has sections with large rocks piled on top of one another which makes for a pretty photo shoot.

·

Delray Beach

Delray Beach is about a 25-30 minute drive south of West Palm Beach. I prefer this beach over other beaches due to the town near the beach. The town is filled with shops, restaurants, bars, and plenty of people! You can usually find parking at the beach or on the side streets of the restaurants. I recommend spending the day at the beach and then heading into town for a bite to eat.

·

Polo/Equestrian

West Palm Beach is becoming more and more popular for Polo & Equestrian. There are a number of fields located in West Palm and Wellington. I’ve never experienced Polo prior to visiting West Palm but I ended up going a few times and had a blast! It reminded me of being at a Kentucky Derby event. Plenty of vendors, drinks, and classy people!

The Gardens Mall

If you’re in the mood to shop this mall is gigantic! There are plenty of high end stores located in the mall along with the typical retail stores. Plenty of food options near the mall as well.

Okeeheelee Park

This park has SO much to offer! Whether you’re in the mood for a round of golf, long walk, workout, paddle boat, or Segway tour… this park has it! You can easily spend several hours here with the amount of activities available. I’ve done the two hour Segway tour which was so much fun! Not only are you wheeling around like a mall cop, but you get to zoom up hills and explore the park at the same time. A nice round of golf in the morning is also another recommendation as the course looks beautiful with the sunrise in the background. More information here
